NEW YORK, NY (March 22, 2005) - Steven Van Zandt's commercial-free Underground Garage Channel // 25 on SIRIUS Satellite Radio debut its 24/7 stable of DJs today. Platinum rock artist Joan Jett, Martin Lewis (infamous British Bon Vivant and Beatles expert), Mighty Manfred (of Atlanta’s The Woggles), and Ko Melina (of Detroit's Ko & the Knockouts) join Underground channel hosts and rock and roll luminaries Kid Leo, Andrew Loog Oldham, Kim Fowley, Bill Kelly and "Handsome" Dick Manitoba.

The DJs will offer insight from their careers as rock and roll musicians and tastemakers while kicking out jams from The Ramones, The White Stripes, MC5, Electric Prunes, the early Kinks and many more.

Kid Leo, who was the number one Rock Jock in Cleveland throughout the rock era, serves as Format Manager of the channel and was recently named “one of the great rock & roll disc jockeys ever” by Don Imus.

The launch commemorates the exact 53rd anniversary of pioneering DJ Alan Freed's "Moondog Coronation Ball," widely considered the first rock and roll concert. The groundbreaking music channel champions both trailblazing veterans and hot up-and-comers.

An extension of the smash hit syndicated radio show Little Steven's Underground Garage, the revolutionary Underground Garage Channel on SIRIUS celebrates the entirety of rock and roll -- past, present and future.
