Dallas Wayne and Hillbilly Jim Join Mojo Nixon on Highly-Acclaimed Music Channel Dedicated to Country Music's Outlaws
SIRIUS Satellite Radio's Outlaw Country channel 36 just got a little rowdier, thanks to the addition of new on-air hosts Hillbilly Jim and Dallas Wayne.
The two join Outlaw Country personalities join Mojo Nixon, Cowboy Jack Clement and Shooter Jennings as hosts of the only music channel dedicated to the rebels, renegades and rogues of country music. Produced by "Little Steven" Van Zandt, Outlaw Country is heard exclusively on SIRIUS.
Beloved professional wrestler Hillbilly Jim now hosts Hillbilly's Jim's Moonshine Matinee on Outlaw Country on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm ET (repeated on Sundays from 2 to 6 pm ET). "Like troubadours and traveling pickpockets, professional wrestlers and country rockers share a common history of barnstorming from town to town and bringing quality entertainment to America's past, present and future prison inmates," said Van Zandt. "In the spirit of all that, we are honored and elated to have WWE legend Hillbilly Jim join our posse of renegades, misfits and outcasts in Outlaw Country."
Hillbilly Jim (Jim Morris) wrestled professionally worldwide with the World Wrestling Federation (now known as the WWE) after he was discovered by WWF's Vince McMahon and trained by Hulk Hogan. He is known from his record-setting Wrestlemania TV appearances and has co-hosted or appeared on numerous other TV shows. His love of music pre-dates his wrestling career, and he wrote his wrestling theme song, "Don't Go Messin' With A Country Boy," which appears on a WWE compilation album. He's also working on his first solo album, I'm A Live Wire, Baby.
Singer, songwriter and actor Dallas Wayne hosts weeknights on Outlaw Country from 8 pm to 12 midnight ET. The Springfield, Missouri native's latest album is I'm Your Biggest Fan, released on Koch Records Nashville earlier this year. In addition to releasing 14 albums and writing many songs for others, he's performed as a member of honky tonkers the TwangBangers and has acted in stage productions including Harry Chapin's Cotton Patch Gospel and the original Broadway cast of Pump Boys and Dinettes.
Of Dallas Wayne, Van Zandt said, "After reading a biography that includes traveling the world, making records, acting, and writing for artists from Nashville to Sweden, one thing is perfectly clear: he's a bum who can't get a decent job and therefore belongs with us."
